Our Services
We are extremely proud to offer services using entirely state of the art equipment, with the aim of providing the highest quality possible in film processing and scanning.
C-41 Color Negative (35mm, 120, 220 & Sheet Film): We build our processing workflow around brand-new, factory ordered Colenta industrial processors using full length C-41B chemistry and continuous fresh water washes. While standard minilabs rely on rapid chemistry and space saving stabilizer shortcuts, our continuous roller transport system gives every roll its complete chemical dwell time followed by a thorough water rinse. This ensures 100% silver clearance, true color fidelity, zero chemical residue, and museum grade archival stability for your negatives.
Standard retail processing often leaves trace fixer trapped in the emulsion, causing negatives to shift color or yellow in as little as 15 to 20 years. By using full C-41B dwell times and multi-stage water washes, we remove all residual chemistry—ensuring your negatives reach their maximum physical potential for multi-generational archival storage.
Black & White (Rolls & Sheet Film): Developed in a dedicated 6-tank Colenta RT unit running Ilford Ilfotec RT chemistry. This Phenidone-based formulation delivers high edge acutance, tight grain definition, and true box-speed shadow retention—yielding linear highlight roll-off and smooth midtone gradations across both traditional cubic stocks (like HP5+ and Tri-X) and modern tabular-grain emulsions (like Delta and T-Max).
Our brand new Colenta processor utilizes a dedicated, multi-stage wash sequence. Unlike manual processing which relies on long soak times to slowly diffuse chemicals out of the film, our continuous roller transport system uses active water circulation, squeegee rollers, and high-volume multi-tank fresh water baths. This ensures residual fixer is completely stripped from the emulsion, providing true museum-grade archival stability for your B&W negatives.
E-6 Slide Film: Developed in our automated Jobo ATL-2500 rotary processor using authentic Kodak E-6 6-bath chemistry for rich chromes, clean whites, and deep blacks.
Slide film leaves zero room for error. While hobbyist setups and smaller labs often rely on 3-bath kits with combined "Blix" stages, we process all E-6 slide film using authentic Kodak 6-bath chemistry. 3-bath shortcuts frequently leave retained silver in the emulsion, causing muddy shadows, color shifts, and premature fading. Our 6-bath process separates the reversal, color developer, bleach, and fixer into distinct stages. Mixed one-shot for every run in our automated Jobo ATL-2500 rotary processor, this guarantees maximum dMax black density, brilliant highlight transparency, and dead-accurate color fidelity on every chrome.
Scanning
We operate a curated fleet of specialized scanners to match your film format, stock type, and creative goals. Our primary production workflow utilizes two Fuji Frontier SP3000 units, a Noritsu HS1800, and a dedicated Aura 35 for 35mm. For higher-resolution requests, sheet film, mounted slides, and specialty reprography, we deploy our Nikon Coolscan (5000ED & 9000ED) optical units, our flagship Creo Eversmart Supreme II CCD flatbed, and a 100-megapixel Hasselblad X2D II mounted to a Cambo technical camera rig.
Fuji Frontier
The Fuji Frontier is famous for its vibrant color palette, snappy contrast, and smooth tonal transitions on color negative film. We offer custom overscanning across both 35mm and 120 formats with three distinct framing choices:
Standard: Clean, edge-to-edge frame presentation with no black borders.
Overscan: Includes a portion of the surrounding black film border for a classic frame aesthetic.
Standard - Cropped
Overscan Borders
120 Full Borders are here. Capture the entire negative from edge to edge—film stock, frame numbers, and all—delivering medium format imagery just as you’d print it on a darkroom easel.
*Currently available for 6x4.5, 6x6, and 6x7
Noritsu HS1800
Renowned for its exceptional resolution, true-to-life color accuracy, and technical flexibility, the Noritsu HS1800 is the ultimate counterpart to our Fuji Frontier scanners. Its advanced optical engine handles everything from 35mm up to expansive 6x17 medium format panoramas with incredible detail.
Photographers who prefer the Noritsu appreciate its cleaner, neutral color rendering, flatter curve profile for precise custom editing, and smooth highlight retention, giving you complete creative control over the final image.
Most of our 120 film is scanned on the Noritsu HS1800, a high resolution lab scanner prized for its sharp detail, smooth tonal rendering, and speed. It handles both color and black & white film with consistency and subtlety, making it ideal for everyday work and professional use alike.
Frontier vs Noritsu?
Both scanners deliver exceptional, high-resolution results, but each has a distinct aesthetic and technical signature:
Fuji Frontier: Known for its punchy, high-contrast look and iconic, vibrant color palette. It produces a stylized, classic film aesthetic, though its punchier contrast holds less highlight detail in high-dynamic-range scenes.
Noritsu HS1800: Offers higher optical resolution, true to life color accuracy, and superior highlight retention. Its flatter, more neutral output provides greater latitude if you plan to edit or fine-tune your files in post.
Note: Overscan options (pictured above) are currently exclusive to our Fuji Frontier workflow.
Ultimately, there is no wrong choice, it simply comes down to whether you prefer the iconic, ready to go Frontier look or the clean, flexible control of the Noritsu.
Advanced Scans
For images that will ultimately be printed for exhibition or archiving, we offer Advanced Scans. For more info about this scan service, please see our dedicated site.
