Northeast photographic was launched in 2017 by me, Mark Sperry. Hi. I learned all the darkroom stuff while they were making plans to throw it out. Fine art printing, advanced sensitometry, large format…all the stuff. I graduated with a degree in Photos in 2007. I was an ‘ok’ commercial photo assistant in Minneapolis. In 2008 I moved to NYC and you know what happened that year. I got lucky though and snagged a job at a real-big photo retailer in their Used Department. I was an atrocious salesman but I learned pretty much every old camera under the sun. Digital cameras went from interesting trash to real good but I never gave up the silver stuff. When I tried to dig myself out of retail purgatory I discovered that folks were re-discovering this whole film thing. I also discovered that I am destined to spend more time under the red light than behind the camera. Certified Lab-Rat through and through. After getting lucky in love we moved to Maine and I decided to put myself back where I belong. It’s been an incredible journey so far. We went from having a Portland two bedroom apartment with one Fuji Frontier scanner and a Phototherm rotary processor, to a commercial space with four scanners, four state of the art automatic processing machines, and a full darkroom. The support of our customers and the analog shooting community has been amazing all the way. We still think there is more to do.

We have a commitment to providing the widest range of analog services at the highest level, and innovating within the space to keep costs low. At every stage we provide multiple ways to realize your individual vision.

We believe the future of photography is analog.

Lets make some pictures.
